2013- Life as a jeweller...

As a jeweller, you spend months and months preparing for events- organising shows, customising and personalising orders and of course, making sure you have enough stock to sell! So, almost as soon as Christmas was over, we were (and still are!) preparing for Valentine's day here at Pinksilver HQ! It's jewellery, boxes and jewellery boxes everywhere as we try to prepare for what looks like our busiest Valentine's yet! We will also be updating the site (for those asking!) to include a new range of upcycled, recycled, uniquely quirky pieces and one-offs, all made by the Pinksilver silversmiths, here in London! So thank you for making 2012 a great year for us! And we look forward to seeing you again this year. Love, Daise and the team xxx

Christmas is coming!

Here at Pinksilver, we pride ourselves on spending most of our time shortening and lengthening pieces for you, personalising, making and customising, gift wrapping and sending out our goodies, rather than writing about doing it! However, we now realise (we're a bit slow on the uptake!) that this means you rarely find out about what we're doing and where we are! While we want to focus our efforts primarily on our service, rather than boasting about our service on our blog, we realise that in this age it's a necessary 'evil' to get the word out about our great products. So our blogging will be far more frequent...which leads me nicely on to my next point- Christmas! *Cue Christmassy picture found on Google images!*
As we've been mostly good girls and boys this year, (we hope)! We are expecting a few lovely gifts this year. Actually, I'm mostly looking forward to a nice roast and spending time with my loved ones, however, knowing full well that cherished gifts are also a part of the Christmas tradition, why not browse our website for inspired presents? We will also be holding several sales in the city, if you would like any information on these sales, we will gladly give it to you, just drop us an email: daisy@pinksilver.co.uk. Thanks and have a wonderful Christmassy build-up!

Next big day for us is Mother's Day on Sunday 3rd April 2011.

And we're here to give you some ideas!

So, why not celebrate mum's hard work with a sweet sterling silver pendant perfect for Mummy's day! We also make this one with as many (or as few) children and combination of children as you like! :) xx

Screening of LUMO: A Young Woman's Story to Heal From Rape in Congo

Things have been busy here at Pinksilver! We are preparing for a charity event in the Sanctum Soho Hotel on 24th March in conjuction with the Tatiana Giraud Foundation: helping rape victims in the Democratic Republic of Congo. We will be there watching the screening of LUMO: A Young Woman’s Story To Heal From Rape in Congo.

Date: Wednesday, 24 March 2010
Location: Sanctum Soho Hotel, Private Cinema
Street: 20 Warwick Street
Time: 18:30 - 21:30

This event is being held to raise awareness for women in the Congo who have suffered the most horrific sexual and human rights abuses. The evening will start at 6.30pm with an introduction by Tatiana Giraud from The Tatiana Giraud Foundation about the cause she so fervently supports and champions. This introduction will be followed by the screening of the documentary LUMO: A young Woman's Story to Heal From Rape in Congo. This is an insightful, thought provoking and extremely touching documentary about the plight of one woman from the Democratic Republic of Congo.

20-year old Lumo Sinai had everything to look forward to in life, until the day that she was brutally raped. She was left suffering from a condition called fistula that rendered her incontinent and turned her into a social outcast within her community.

LUMO follows the story of this brave young woman, as she faces the challenge of recovery with remarkable courage, grace and good humour.

The evening will include drinks, canapés and a raffle draw. Prizes will include:
• £100 voucher for a holiday with Flight Centre
• 1-hour Dermalogica Facial Voucher with Beauty Essence, Mayfair
• A bottle of 1996 Tattinger and many other beautiful gifts from our generous sponsors

In addition, Pinksilver will be there on the night, with 10% of all proceeds being donated to the Trust. There will also be an opportunity to participate in a Q&A session with Tamara Kinja who carried out an internship at the renowned Panzi Hospital in Bukavu.

This promises to be a very enjoyable and informative evening and we look forward to seeing you on the night!

Once again it's at:

Sanctum Soho Hotel,
Private Cinema, Lower Ground floor
20 Warwick Street
Soho, London W1B 5NF

on 24th March and starts at 6.30pm!

Warning: This is an incredibly moving and, in parts, graphic film.

Look forward to seeing you all there!

Daisy xx
